The exhibit features cartoonist Ricardo Cate' from Kewa (Santo Domingo Peublo), New Mexico. Illustrator Ricardo Cate' shows the humorous side of growing up in a Native American community poking fun at the simple interactions of everyday life and the amusing interactions between Native people and the dominant culture. Ricardo's viewpoints are entertaining and keeps you smiling.
This exhibit highlights the book Growing Up Pueblo - Past, Present, and Future of the Acoma People. The book was developed to preserve the history of Acoma through lifetime stories identifying the differences between the past, present, and future. This exhibit features these stories using visual, audio, and text components as well as interactive stations allowing for continual visitor contributions.
