Sky City Cultural Center/Haak'u Museum is hosting the Drepung Gomang monks of Tibet for a cultural exchange! Come and see the beautiful mandala they create and learn more of the culture of the Drepung Gomang monks.
The Drepung Gomang monks are artists and scholars that offer living, ancient, and sacred Tibetan art and performances in return for the opportunity to raise donations to support the monks living and learning at their monastery in exile in India. Because of the diverse and unique Tibetan culture and situation, interest in their programs has also come from Fine Arts Centers, Museums, Carnegie Hall, Public Libraries and often overlap within University Departments such as Philosophy, Art, Asian Studies, World History, International Politics, etc. The monks have been invited to and participated in culturally diverse programs at LaSalle University, Rutgers, DePaul, University of Connecticut, University of Arizona, Asian Pacific Art Museum, Texas A&M, Carnegie Hall, many private schools, Public Libraries, and Museums.
